seitiger Orientierung gemessen.
in anderen Untersuchungen behandelt.
Some investigations of the relative orientation
In order to investigate the normal performance of the relative orientation in practical work,
the residual y-parallaxes have been measured in a great number of photogrammetric models after
the finished relative orientation. The performance of such y-parallax measurements in different
instruments was discussed. From the measured y-parallaxes the mean square value of the residual
parallaxes in 9 orientation points was computed and was compared with the standard error of the
y-parallax measurements after an adjustment in accordance with the method of the least squares.
Different cameras were used for the photography. The main plotting instrument was the Autograph
A7. In some cases the mirror stereoscope and the parallax bar and other instruments were used.
The investigations have proved that the accuracy of the relative orientation can be considerably
improved if an adjustment according to the method of the least squares is performed. Only
accidental errors have been assumed to be present. The determination of systematic errors has been
treated in other investigations. The obtained results are of particular interest for the application
of the principles of the numerical corrections.

Suggestion for a standardized test of the projection system 0 f the projection system

(Pubi. II HR 9)
In order to check the reliability of the functions of the individual projectors
of photogrammetric instruments and particularly for the comparison between
different instruments it seems very desirable to use some kind of standardiza
tion of the test procedure.
In this paper such a suggestion is made. The test procedure is founded upon
the grid method for the determination of the quality of the central projection.
The method of the least squares is the basic principle for the treatment of the
errors of the measurements of the projected grid coordinates.
From the suggested arrangement of the grid points a very convenient test
procedure can be established. The most important systematic errors (the radial
distortion and asymmetries of the pencils of rays) are obtained and also the
