GENERAL INFORMATION
Admittance to the meetings and to the exhibits is granted
to those having registered. Please carry Congress Badge.
Admittance only to the commercial exhibits of persons in
vited by exhibitors is certified with a special Exhibits Badge.
For all special events outside the congress-localities there are
numbered tickets in your registration envelope. Please bring
these tickets with you.
Information desk is at your service.
One mailbox will be provided to each congress participant.
The time-table does not include any margins. To the spea
kers’ guidance signal-lights are installed.
Alterations in the time-table will be announced on program
information- boards and—if time permits—in the Congress
News.
The list of participants in this program shows the situation
July 5th. Please check your name etc. Correction forms are
available at Information desk.
Discussions will be given more time than before, as requested
at the YII Congress. Parallel sessions and »papers read by
title» have been necessary in order to secure time for dis
cussions. Printed summaries and available reprints, are a
base for the discussions. Speakers are requested to give name
and country clearly and give the session-chairman time
to repeat it. Speak slowly and in the microphone to facilitate
the work of the interpreters. Recording on tape of discus
sions is executed by the Phonetic Training Laboratory at the
Stockholm University (Stockholms Hogskola). Please fill out
a special card with name, country, serial number of program
point and if possible a summary of what you have said and
drop it into boxes at the doors.
Interpretation is, to a certain extent, organized as simul
taneous interpretation and consecutive interpretation from
English, French and German to French or English (to be
heard in the earphones). Professional interpreters are: Mr. R.
Bidmade, Stockholm, Miss M. Wagner, Paris, Dr. C. de
Pandy, Stockholm.
The following gentlemen will assist at a few sessions as
honorary interpreters, mainly with consecutive interpretation:
Professor P.-L. Baetsle, Belgium, Mr. P. A. Vermeir, Bel
gium, Professor E. H. Thompson, England, Dipl. Ing. Hans
Melchers, Germany, Mr. Gunter Richter, Germany, Mr. F. L.
Corten, the Netherlands, Topograf Olav Dahle, Norway, Ing.
Robert Scholl, Switzerland.
During sessions without planned interpretation we hope that
important points will be summarized in a second language
by members of the Boards or by someone from the floor.
Printed summaries in 5 parts have been mailed to the parti
cipants or placed in their mailboxes.
Reprints. Every author of a technical communication has
been advised to provide in good time at least 1100 reprints.
About 80 different reprints are to be found together with
copies of the National and General reports in your printed-
matter-parcel. Those having subscribed for the Archives
type A will get a complete extra set in their »Archives-
parcel». Delayed reprints etc. will be placed in your mailbox.
Volume XII of the Archives will be published in 4 parts.
They are, or will be, available in three different types of
binding (A, B and C) as described in the Congress News.
Those having subscribed for the types A and B will get part
2 (National reports) and part 3 (General reports) in the Ar
chives parcel. For those having chosen type A, this parcel
will also contain a special cover for part 4 and the above
mentioned complete set of reprints. The reprints are in this
case provided with code numbers. Those having not
subscribed can secure the same material at ordinary price
at the registration desk.
Exposition see Exhibitors’ Catalogue.
