Sometimes, questions concerning information or details, were specially put for
the clear purpose of collecting all possible technieal information on the various wor-
king proceedings.
The questionnaire was sent out accompanied by a circular-letter specifying the
Commission’s aims and suggesting how to best reply to the questionnaire.
Both the questionnaire and circular-letter (Commission III's Circular N° 8) are
for clarity’s sake reproduced herewith as follows:

The spreading and use of different method of aerial triangulation in the world.
Dear Colleagues,
the Commission III Presidency Bureau intends to submit at the London Con-
gress, as already done at previous Congresses, a report stating in the most complete
statistical synthesis, the spreading and use of aerial triangulation in the world.
The preparation of this Report requires for collecting useful news, the collabo-
ration of all National rapporteurs and of everybody who takes an interest in aerial
triangulation developments.
The present circular dispatching would not seem too late.
As suggested by the Congress Board itself, rapporteurs of the different photogram-
metric activities, shall relate works made within December 31st, 1959: it was useless
then to begin the collection of data sooner.
Should the collection of data bring to gather sufficient material, the Presi-
dency 1s bound since now to work out such a material both for statistical purposes
and for a more Investigated examination of characteristics, tendencies and problems
concerning aerial triangulation applications.
Enclose herewith a questionnaire.
[t 1s not requested to reply to all questions. However, it can be an useful scheme
for answer-compilers, both for the interesting parts and for the sub-division of subject
into several topics.
The questionnaire 1s divided into two parts.
National rapporteurs should answer the first part, containing news of general
interest. Corporations, Firms and Organizations interested in the matter and to
whom rapporteurs should send one copy of the questionnaire, shall have to reply to
the second part. The questionnaire can also be drawn-up by the same rapporteurs
who shall base their replies on information separately collected from every Organi-
zation, Firm or Corporation.
Answers to the questionnaire must be sent to Commission III Presidency within
February 29th, 1960 including all information concerning works carried out during
the last quadriennium, namely from January 1st, 1956 to December 31st, 1959.
