List of triangulated blocks with radial method including the following infor-
mation for each group of blocks
number — length — flight altitude — photo-scale — overlap and
sidelap — survey purposes — ground characteristics — instruments
used — further information.
Sent out in November 1959, this questionnaire besought information relating
to the use of triangulation beginning January 1956 up to the end of 1959.
b) Much to this Commission's great satisfaction, a wealth of detailed information
began to pour in beginning February 1960.
However, in spite of repeat pressure for a reply, both by circulars or personal
letters, not all Questionnaire recepients and above all, not all the Commission rappor-
teurs did oblige with a reply.
The general collection of replies is contained in Table 1 under the caption « Gene-
ral information ».
As customary, the circulars were addressed within the sphere of Countries Mem-
bers of I.S.P. Thus, the information secured, chiefly concern those Countries.
We must bear in mind, however, that vast zones of evidently intense photogram-
metric activity have been left out from the gathering field of information.
Such zones are, perchance, the very ones presenting a greater photogrammetric
interest, exactly because an ever encreasing need of a cartography is felt as more urgent
with every day passing.
