It seems, therefore, that this part of the experiment may be considered as yielding
two results:
1. The rank of the instruments tested (which is not entirely exclusive inasmuch
as some overlap exists, as may be expected statistically.)
2. Some numerical quantities associated with these instruments under test condi-
tions, which must be tempered in practice with a factor of safety and with economy
of operation. Again, the comparison is not exclusive due to an overlap of a few of
the performances, which may be expected among statistical samples.
