4.22 How is the effect of the mechanical or optical correction of
systematic errors of the photographs (for instance the radial
distortion) checked?
25 answers.
The instruments are mainly tested with grid measurements 1-3 times a
year and before important plottings.
In 12 cases tolerances before adjustments are accounted as tolerances of
principal distance 0.01-0.02 mm, 0,01'"-0, 02" for Kelsh Plotter, position
of principal point 0.01-0.02 mm. Standard error of 0.01 mm in x- and y-
coordinates, image plane,is given for first order instruments and 0.02 mm
for second order instruments and 0.05, 0.1 ?/oo of the flying height in
height, respectively.
In 9 cases no tolerances are accounted.
In 10 cases the effect of the correction of radial distortion is checked at
delivery, with grid measurement (5), micrometer measurement (1), ice
models (2), test field (1) and y-parallax measurement (1). No tolerances
are given under this point.
4.3 If glass grids are applied for tests of the instruments, how is the
accuracy of the coordinates of the grids checked?
Which are the tolerances of the grid coordinates and of the test
measurements ?
Which is the magnitude of the standard errors ofthe grid coordinates ?
2l answers,
In 14 cases the grids are accepted at delivery without any special checks.
In 6 cases a tolerance (standard error) of the grid coordinates of 0.002-
0.005 mm and in one case 0. 01 mm is accepted. The test measurements
are performed in comparators, The standard error of the measurements
is in 2 cases accounted to be 0.002 mm.
5.1 Which orientation data etc. are recorded in connection with the orienta-
tion procedure ?
26 answers.
For the universal instruments all orientation data are in general recorded
as k, ©, o, bx, by, bz and projector constant. In 2 cases only bx, by and bz
are recorded and in one case the y-parallaxes in the points of the relative
orientation. At the absolute orientation the residual errors of x, y and z
in the control points are recorded, in some cases only the residual errors
‘in z.
