2. Basic Survey and 10- Year Plan 
In Table 1, numbers of various markers of the various basic surveys are 
shown. The number of markers of the 4th order triangulation is increasing 
with the advancement of large-scale topographic maps and cadastal survey. 
The 10-year plan of the national basic survey is now in progress. Outline 
of this plan is shown in Table 2. The budget in total of this 10 year plan amounts 
to about 17 billion Yen ( 570 million dollers ).
