The number of plotting instruments employed is 42,and 2
of these are used for training.25 of the total 42 instruments
are Wild,l is & Santoni and 16 are Zeiss.
2 Precision Stereo-comparators are available for analytical
operations: one being a Nistri TA 3-A and the other a Zeiss PSK.
The recording procedure of the measurements is carried out in
the Ecomat Systems attached to these comparators and the point
marking operations of aerial-triangulation work is accomplished
by the Wild Point Transfer instrument. This instrument is also
utilized in the revision process to transfer points from the
older plates of a particular area carrying triangulation marks,
to the newer plates of the same area not carrying any triangula-
tion marks.
For the purpose of increasing efficiency generally,a change
has been made within the plotting organization and a unit called
'Pre-study and Preparation for Plotting' has beon established.
The function of the unit is briefly as follows: After each aerial
photographic mission, the negatives are handed over to the photo-
laboratory. Here, the test exposures taken just before and just
after each strip is flown, are cut away, processed and printed on
photographic paper.
These prints are then delivered to the 'Pre-study and Pre-
paration for Plotting' unit, before the flight season is over
and are examined here.In this examination, the physical condition
of the triangulation points as well as their configuration and
whether there are any disturbances in the photographs due to
possible camera failure are controlled. In this way the possibility
to take the necessary precautions in due time is facilitated.
Moreover, the basic goal of the unit is to prevent the plotting
operator from losing his precious time.In the unit, the area to he
plotted is divided into sections according to its Size. This is
followed by the preparation of map bases for each section and
the selection of models to carry out appropriate plotting of
each sheet. On each model the sheet frames and referance numbers
of sheets and the triangulation points existing in that area are
indicated, and then diapositives are printed from these.Work pre-
pared in this manner is handed over to the operator together
with all sorts of information and documents to be utilized Guring
the plotting process so that he may readily start his mission.
A lot of difference has been observed,as far as productivity is
concerned between work described above and work where the operat-
er carries out his preparations.

Aerial-triangulation is used generally in the preparation of
1:5 000 scale STK (Standart-Topographic-Cadastral) maps,and
furthermore this method is employed in the preparation of maps
