LEEDS UNIVERSITY, Dept, of Civil Engineering
Elements of photogrammetry are taught to civil engineers, geographers,
MSc transportation engineers and MSc engineering geologists.

LONDON, IMPERIAL COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
Dept, of Geology
All geology undergraduates are given instruction in photo geology.
Postgraduates studying for Master's degrees pursue the subject further in
courses given in mineral exploration, petroleum geology, rock mechanics,
geophysical prospecting, structural geology and engineering geology.
* LONDON, NE LONDON POLYTECHNIC Dept of Surveying
The department prepares students for the Royal Institute of Chartered
Surveyors professional qualification in land surveying. It offers also a BSc
course in land surveying sciences, and an HNC in surveying, cartography, and
photogrammetry. ‘All these courses include the study of photogrammetry. Out
of a staff of 14, 4 may be regarded as photogrammetric specialists. The
department possesses a Thompson Watts mk II, a Kern PG2, a Santoni
Stereomicrometer, a Cambridge Stereocomparator, two Williamson multiplex
plotters and other photogrammetric equipment.

LONDON, POLYTECHNIC OF CENTRAL LONDON, Dept,of Civil Engineering
The college offers its own BSc (CNAA) course in civil engineering for both
ordinary and honours students. The courses include photogrammetry and its
application to civil engineering. The department has a photogrammetric
laboratory with some plotting machines and other photogrammetric equipment.
It is hoped to build this up with further purchases.
LONDON, SOUTH BANK POLYTECHNIC
Relevant aspects of photogrammetry are taught to honours and ordinary
degree students, HND and college diploma students in structural and civil
engineering, town planning, estate management, -and general practical
surveying.
Photogrammetry is also an important feature of the new national
certificate courses in surveying and cartography. These came into being in
1971, and the Polytechnic is very actively involved. Equipment is at present
relatively modest but the department is planning to obtain more and in
particular some more plotting machines.
* LONDON. UNIVERSITY COLLEGE, Dept,of Photogrammetry and Surveying
Professor E H Thompson was awarded the degree of Sc. D. (Cambridge) in
December 1968 largely for his work in photogrammetry. In August and
September of that year he was visiting professor at the University of
Witwatersrand.
