ways, There are five private companies in the country using 
photogrammetry as a significant part of their production: Finn- 
map, Kaavakartta Oy, Karttakonsultit Oy,  Photometra Oy, Soil 
and Water Ltd, The bibliography on the last pages of this re- 
port will give a good picture of the reported research, 
The application of photo interpretation has been increased subs- 
tantially in fields such as forestry, geology and road and wa- 
terway planning, The most important users and investigators 
have been the Forest Research Institute, the Geological Research 
Institute and the Universities of Technology in both Helsinki 
and Tampere, the Universities of Oulu and Turku as well as the 
National Board of Public Roads and Waterways and the National 
Board of Survey. 
The activity of the Finnish Society of Photogrammetry has been 
in many cases concentrated on the fact, that the Society is 
going to offer to arrange the next congress of ISP in Helsinki 
in 1976. 
The following information has been collected from the annual re- 
ports published yearly by the National Society. 
Research and education

logy has carried out research on accuracy of analytic photo- 
grammetry, During the time this report was being prepared the 
new adjustment method with bundles of rays has partly displaced 
the analog triangulation method, The bibliography of this report 
includes several articles about the accuracy obtained, The 
standard error of unit weight from the adjustment has varied 
+4 and +7 um referred to image scale, 
Two methods for calibration of cameras have been used, For the 
first one, the laboratory calibration, the Institute construc- 
ted its own goniometer in 1969, For the second one two photo- 
grammetric test fields have been built in the country, The test
