field of Jümijárvi, built and measured by the National Board of
Survey, has about 317 geodetic points on an area of 2 x 2 km? ,
The adjustment has given as the maximum coordinate error t4.2 mm
in planimetry. The accuracy in height is expressed as re-
lative error + 0.6 mm/km. Another test field has been built by
the Institute of Photogrammetry on a rocky island Seglinge, where
all points are fixed on the bed-rock. The coordinates of the
points are determined partly geodetically and partly using the
analytical photogrammetric method mentioned above.
The first results indicate that the first method with goniometer
and the second one with test fields give identical curves of dis-
tortion.
As other lines of research at the Institute should be mentioned
the determination of the modulation transfer function of dif-
ferent aerial Cameras, and also research in different non-topo-
graphic problems.
During the report period two theses for the doctor's degree in
the field of photogrammetry have been accepted:

The Finnish Ceodetic Institute has
continued the investigation of stellar triangulation which uses
photogrammetric methods for measurement of balloon electron-
flash points against the stars. The geodetic network for the
