ABSTRACT
The problems of the survey of close range objects, particularly as far
as the survey of architectural works is concerned, are here summarized.
The use of electronic computers and of the most advanced techniques
for the spectral statistical research in the analysis of the photogrammetric
information allows to reach a deep knowledge of the structure of the
works in question.
The traditional operational method was necessarily modified, to suit
it to the following electronic processing. On this purpose a critical
analysis of the camera to be employed for these surveys is made as
regards to the selection of stations and to the taking conditions.
The use of orthophotography is studied in order to supply more complete
details about painted surfaces.
The results obtained through the survey carried out by Galileo-Santoni
equipment of two domes being part of architectural monuments of the
Italian Renaissance have been described as example.
