Absolute orientation of the models can be accomplished converting to
the correct size some of the measurements made on the architectural
monument and suitably making vertical those lines and directions avai-
lable for proceeding with vertical construction.
Experience gathered in the abovementioned surveys has demonstrated
that, above all, it is the asymmetries and their relative deformations which
concern a critical interpretation of an architectural monument.
The greatest difficulties in the plotting of exposures can, in any case,
result when one must make analytical comparisons of a geometric and
statistical nature between external structures and internal structures.
This is an excellent example of the fundamental problem of reference
of the elements of these varying structures, in a single terrestrial topo-
graphic reference system, capable of guaranteeing more than anything
the reliability of the final conclusions.
