1. INTRODUCTION
In order to present a picture as complete as possible of the present status

Replies have been received in time by the following reporters :

Finland Prof. Dr. Halonen
France Mr. Bonneval
German Federal Republic Prof. Dr. Weimann
Iran Mr. Shafey
South Africa Mr, Williams

2. WORLD-WIDE INVENTORY OF HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS OFFERING IN-
STRUCTION IN PHOTOGRAMMETRY
At the Commission VI Symposium 1970 in Bratislava it was decided to prepa-
re such an inventory on the basis of obtainable information. The working
Group "Education" has attempted to fulfill this task, and the results are
summarized in Table I. To prepare such an inventory numerous sources had to
be consulted. In analysing this material it was felt necessary to distin -
guish between instruction on the university level /U/ and instruction on
the technician level /T/. The analysis furthermore revealed that photogram-
metry is taught either in faculties of photogrammetry /USSR, People's Re-.
public of China/ in departments of photogrammetry /Eastern Europe, Canada,
etc./, in geodetic science departments, in surveying departments, in civil
engineering departments, in forestry faculties, in geography departments,
in geology departments, in science departments and in surveying technology
departments.
We have tried to include in this survey all institutions offering an elemen-
tary introduction to photogrammetry / minimum lsemester credit hour / up to
oe
