COMMISSION I.
IMAGE ACQUISITION.
The general situation about the available equipment for image acqui-
sition in Mexico at the present time is as follows:
Aircrafts.
22 aircrafts were reported as heing used for Aerial Photography
coverage. 14 of them with a ceiling above 28 000'. 10 of them belong
to governmental organizations, and the rest to private companies.
One of the planes is equiped with Doppler Navigation System.
Cameras.
34 cameras of different types are used in Mexico. 22 are Wide Angle,
5 are Super Wide Angle, and the rest are Normal Angle cameras.
Most of them are modern type cameras. 9 were bought in the repor-
ted period. Camera Calibration facilities are available in Mexico at
CETENAL.
Developing and Processing.
8 organizations have reported to maintain Aerial Photography labora
tories with developing and processing units for black and white. One
organization owns an automatic color processing unit.
Coverage.
Important advances have been made in the reported period. Map 1
shows the 1:50 000 and smaller scales coverage using black and white
photography; about 60% of the total was made in the period, what
means about 1000 000 square kilometers. Map 2 shows the actual
coverage at 1:25 000, 65% of which is color photography. 30% of it
was made between 1972 and 1976.
The use of Aerial Photography is increasing notably mainly due to its
availability. About 80000 square kilometers were covered in the
reported period at larger scales. mainly 1:10000 and 1:5 000. Color
Photography at 1:2500 is applied for Cadastral work in small areas.
A trend to automation 1s starting in the film processing and handling
and is expected to increase in the near future.
