At the present time the problems of the developing countries
are not dealt with enough in the commissions, because the
majority of the participants has arrived from the developed
countries with their own problems. Therefore the representatives
of developing countries, small in number, do not get adequate
attention to their problems.
Special occasions are needed in order to look over the field
of photogrammetry from the point of view of the developing
countries. Some aspects to this effect are pointed out in
the following.
The adaption of photogrammetry to solve the economic and
Social problems ef the developing countries should be
emphasized and all possible applications investigate.

The technical solutions may deviate in developing countries
strongly from those in developed ones. The results from
photogrammetric operations over extensive area are needed
fast. Therefore some compromises are necessary and the
perfection must in some respects be abandoned unlike in the
densely populated industrial countries.
Climate and terrain may greatly differ from that of the
countries where the photogrammetric methods have been pre-
viously developed. So may the transportation possibilities
be quite limited and the net of control points very scarce or
otherwise unsatisfactory. Methods should be found to overcome
these obstaoles.
