vo
time, which should have to be obligatory for all mem-
ber associations, it may happen that after some time
we don't make ourselves understood. The names of the
disciplines alone confirm the necessity of that idea:
Photo-Interpretation, Evalution of aerial photography,
practical applications of aerial photographs or Remote
Sensing, Teledetection. Though the senses of the names
are entirely unambiguous, there might be rather diffe-
rent explanation. It occurs to me to recommend that al-
so the Commission VII should be engaged with our Sub -
commission VI-3 Terminology. The preoise terminology
should be afterwords involved in the International Pho-
togrammetrio Dictionary.
I should gladly mention to the end, that the Photo-
interpretation andthe Remote Sensing have been becoming
wide scientific branches that are influencing and will
keep influencing to always greater extent not only the
economy but also the policy all over the world. We ought
to be aware of the fact that aerial and namely satelli-
te imagery play an important part in the development of
the peaceful efforts, which I should gladly emphasize
just here, in the city of Helsinki, where significant
documents giving the hope to all people in the world
were signed a year ago.
