6.2. GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES o:
The task of Governmental Agenoies is the planning, exe-
cution and analysis of the experiments conducted by diffe —
rent user agencies and investigators to develop moze effi -
cient remote sensing systems.
6.3. RESEARCH CENTERS
Besides the National Scientific Academies, Councils,
and Research Organizations in many countries, special remo-
te sensing centers are operating.
6.4. EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS
Institutions, in which remote sensing is taught, are
conducting different basic and applied research projects.
6.5. PUBLIC AND PRIVATE ORGANIZATIONS o
Highly specialized research activity is usually con-
ducted by Public and Private Organizations.
Generally, the collaboration and interrelation between
the above mentioned research organizations is of a high de-
gree,
CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
It can be ascertained that the science of remote sens-
ing has developed from & phase that was devoted solely to
basic experimentation to one in which a significant portion
of the research effort is devoted to the operational evalu-
ation of remote sensing systems, Since these systems must
be evaluated on the basis of sound statistical analysis e
along with a good understanding of the whole procedure and
technology, therefore a gap has been created between the re-
searcher und the ultimate user.
The solution of the problem implies the development
of.a /1/ more effective educational program, and /2/a close
collaboration between the researcher and user.
ABSTRACT
dhotointerprotation and remote sensing research polioy
and organization is analysed. The paper enoompasses a discus-
sou of the vhole technological process of /1/ the radiators,
/2/ the medium of propagation, /3/ sensors, /4/ telemetry and
data 1 reduction, /5/ photointerpretation, and /6/ organiza-
tion. Each section comprises objectives, policy, tasks and
characteristic research conducted in the related fields. @
