Effective production of thematic maps upon the
results of the combined interpretation of RADAR, INFRA-RED, ERTS
and other images will be reported.
Reference will be made to the complement of the
RADAM PROJECT for the rest of the Brazilian Territory, covering an
area for which various kinds of data and images are available for
comparison and correlation.
A chapter is dedicated to the interpretation of
data collected with other sensors namely the airborne gama-espec-
trometer and magnetometer, combined with photo-geological interpre
tation as applied to the inventory of iron and radioactive minerals e -
deposits.
INTRODUCTORY REMARKS
One that look at a world map can see that within -
the tropics of Cancer and Capricorne, the following large countries
or continents are encountered:
Australia, India, the whole African Continent, = e -
part of Mexico, Central America and part of South America including
the majority of the Brazilian territory. Among the countries seen
into the tropical zone, part of them are underdeveloped and part
are developing countries.
Most of them are known to be potentially rich in -
natural resources but still needing to prospect and inventoriate -
said resources in order to evaluate them and certify themselves of
the viability of their development.
