ABSTRACT 
An interdisciplinary project at the Department of Geography of 
the ETH in. Zurich is concerned with the development of a modular 
software package for the interactive display and processing of 
images in connection with teaching and research purposes. A PDP 
11/40 and a RAMTEK GX-100B display computer with a colour TV 
monitor are the principal components of the system. It is capable 
of generating raster and vector data in image form. Statistical 
processing operations will be implemented in the future. The 
intended uses of the system include the interactive processing 
of multispectral remote sensing images, statistical raster data 
and digital map data (for example, digital terrain models).
