perties of objects on the earth surface, These parameters are
therefore not only important as features for classification
but also important for winning information about interesting
Object groups on the'earth surface. In the case of the example
given in 5. morphometric parameters of banks and depressions
can be measured directly from the image.
Measuring parameters of interesting objects on the earth sur-
face is not possible for each type of surface. In the case of
a broadleaf wood it would be nearly impossible. Moreover in-
fluences as sun elevation and slope inclination must be regar-
ded. So for each surface the special situation has to be re-
garded.
