Abstract
The texture of forest stand in IRC-Aerial Photographs and MSS-
Date of various scales has been investigated. Using the same
flight hight serial photographs provide much more information
of texture than MSS-Data. With the increase of flight-hight the
information is rapidly decreasing. Aerial photos taken from 4000 m
still provide some information of texture while the loss of tex-
ture in MSS-Data taken from 2200 mn is already very serious. MSS-
Data taken from 4000 m provide nearly nothing in regard to the
texture of forest stands. Based on texture analysis a precise
discrimination of hardwood and conifers or different age-classes
is therefore not to be expected by remote sensing data taken from
more than 2200 m flight-hight.
Improvement in texture analysis of IRC-Aerial Photographs can be
expected by colorfiltering. The texture analysis of the MSS-Data
were the best possible in the nesr IR chansls snd still sufficient
in the "green" band. Remarkable variation in dependence of the ob-
ject location within the photo was found in the large scale but not
in the small scale IRC-Photographs.

bildeten Objekte bzw.
