When we pay attention to the relation between the maturing period
and the wavelength range, the maturing status can be observed with the
withered color difference.
On the hearvest day ( July 28 ), all wheat fields on the alluvial
soil and on the wet ando soil are withered. But the delay of maturing
was observed on the dried ando soil (No.2,No.6)with remaining green
color on leaf without being perfectly withered.
The spectro distribution on this period is shown in Fig.4-6,
where the reflectance went up smoothly from 450 nm to 1050 nm, which
was represented by No.5,and the IR range had the high value.
Table-4-1. shows the relation between the amount of water in the
ear and the reflectance on each wavelength band so as to indicate the
maturing status. In this table, only the red band shows the high
correlation with the amount of water contents, it may depend on the
reduction of the chlorophyll in the leave on the maturing period.
while the double correlation of the blue and the red band with the
water contents were given as:
Y= 15,78 + 0,14 X1 + 29.29 %: ( r=0,778" }
,where Y: water contents of the leave
X1: reflectance on Biue band
X2: reflectance on Red band.
In this equation, it is clear that Blue band has a low contribution
to the maturing status.
As the result, (1)the ratio value of IR/R in the reflectance is
very effective for the yield estimation, (2)the Red band was very
effective for the maturing indicator.
And the spectral measurement with the battery operated hand
spectroradiometer can be utlized not only for the grand-truth in
remote sensing but also for the monitoring of the growing status.
