The printed results of this system reveal a "natural
green" color version of the original CIR scene.
The chromatic transposition was more attractive to the
users because they could recognize ground features
easier in natural colors.
When collar, grid, graticule, the lettering guides,
border information, etc., were prepared, Cromalin*
color proofs were made to validate the procedures.
All materials were then sent to the USGS Printing and
Distribution Center for printing. Many of the carto
graphic preparation steps have been omitted from
this paper, because the actual photographic preparation
is the subject matter of primary interest.
Plow diagram represented is a schematic representation
of the total process (see Figure 6).

negative working reproducible display system. This
dry process provides a quick, low cost, and reliable
display of color separation negatives in color which
match any press inks.
