Terrestrial-photogrammetric cameras, which are invariably adjusted for
"oo" or which allow of being set to "oo" are visually calibrated in this
adjustment on a goniometer especially equipped for this purpose. The re-
sults are sufficiently equal to those, which can be got photographically
using panchromatic materials, For other setting rangds the distortion
data as well as the c. values are determined by adding various quantities
to the calibration reSults for "oo"; these quantities are derived from
the available geometric-optical computation data, This procedure is ba-
sed on the well-founded assumption that for these lenses of quasi-symmetric
construction equally large manufacturing deviations have to be expected
in distortion for both directions of light incidence, Since the distor-
tion for a definite imacing scale 8! is derived from the known relation
Ar - Art ^ 8. Arr (2)
where Ar! is the distortion in the rear focal plane and An that in
the front°focal plane, one will at a maximum 6t value of 0.0Ÿ°ana a ma-
nufacturing inaccuracy of +5 or + 10 obtain an error of 0.35 or 0.70
jam, respectively, which can be neglécted,
A similar conclusion can also be drawn for asymmetric image movements,
According to Russinow [2] one obtains in analogy to (2) for the radial
and tangential asymmetry component:
Arts) * Aro) = 814 Art
r(8!) (oo)
(3)
Art cgi) = Art, 0) > Bt Art Co)
If for the largest field angles an admissible amount of + 5 or +10 un
is assumed for the more meaningful tangential asymmetry component, /then
errors of the same magnitude as above result. Practical measurements
for close-range settings corroborated our assumptions,
The unchanged position of the calibrated principal point in the UMK for
each setting is warranted within the limits of 4 0.04 mm in both x!'- and
Z!-direction,
The testresults on the three prototypes of the UMK show that this value
could considerably be lowered. The following value: were obtained:
