Comparison of Imagery from Film and Solid-State
Array Remote Sensing Cameras

ABSTRACT
An analytical study has been made to compare the
imagery from a solid-state array camera and a photographic
Film camera operating under the same conditions. Both
digital and analog forms of the imagery from the two
systems are compared in terms of signal-to-noise ratio
and minimum detectable ground reflectance difference.
It is shown that the choice of system for remote sensing
depends on the application.
