4.2 Comparison Verification of Measurement Results
The polygon display of some measured data by using
polyworks is shown in Figure-11-(a). (It is drawn by using
50,000 points data) Each point has 3-dimensional information
and color information.
photogrammetry and LMS within this area. 3DCG is created
based on polygon data, the shape of a structure is traced, and
the combined picture on the drawing of photogrammetry is
shown in Figure-12 and it is confirmed that these data has a
good agreement. (Better result can be achieved by using higher
resolution laser)
Generally, photogrammetry figure creating work is done by the
Photogrammetry operator. However, the cultural property
experts point out as follows.
1. The technician creates figure without understanding what
object is;
2. The created figures have not academic value;
3. The size of expected point cannot be measured etc.
For example, for the expert of the cultural property, the object
itself has academic value and figure drawing is just for
interpreting the object. On the other hand, the person in charge
for preservation management asks for a system in which is able
to measure the coordinate of an expected point. In order to
deliver information in a rigorous cooperative posture for these
three parties, it is necessary to ask cultural property expert to
suggest ortho-photo that is created at field based on digital
Photogrammetry and shape acquired by LMS.

5. APPLICATION TO PRESERVATION AND
MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT
As Information management to grasp structural deformation
due to deterioration, it is important to carry out an integrated
management system of field investigation results and structure
repair history. Up to now, twice preservation constructions were
performed in the Atomic bomb memorial dome. It is important
to arrange the records of past two preservation activities and
construct a system that can deliver those information (when,
when and how the preservation construction were done) to
future generations.
By up grading integrated 3-dimensional management system to
the former two-dimensional handwriting-revised repair and
investigation records, the planning and consideration of future
preservation management becomes easy.
Figures13 and 14 show the examples of recording of repair and
investigation results based on photogrammetry CAD drawing.
More detailed record is displayed by choosing each
investigation and repair part. (Figure-15)
