Fig.5, Make Up Faces
6. TEST RESULTS
Though any quantitative evaluation was not made, visual
evaluation by not only the authors but also other potential
customers was exercised. The impression of the animation with
making up face gave a kind of illusion as if a real human
existed and was smiling. The majority agreed that the solid
model with projected imagery was much better than
conventional perspective views.
7. APPLICATIONS OF GEO-SIMULATOR
HCC has proposed a Japanese patent in 2001 and is producing a
prototype of projection box with a solid model frame, a LCD
projector, PC, a reflection mirror and 2D GIS data contents.
HCC has produced a solid model of a Japanese active volcano
called Mt. Daisetsu located in Hokkaido together with GIS
dataset. Snow falling animation was tested onto this model
which showed a fantastic virtual reality.
8. CONCLUSIONS
Geo-simulator is a powerful tool for a real 3D visualization fro
not only human face but also digital terrain model (DTM).
Reconstruction of 3D face model with making up and animation
would be commercially valuable in the market of digital
photogrammetry and also making up industry.
