ARCHAEOLOGY 
The construction of the St. Lawrence Seaway made it necessary to flood a number 
of ancient Indian burial grounds and remains of Indian villages, and so archaeological 
research was carried out as quickly as possible in the areas to be flooded. Photographs 
of some villages and burying grounds were taken by the National Research Council 
with a stereometric camera. Figure 5 shows a picture of an Indian grave and a plot
