Observations from aero-triangulat ion of the strips are adjusted mathematically
and after examination of such results a simultaneous ‘adjustment of the strips as a block
is made by semi-graphical means, Tt is claimed that this method makes full use of the
stereo plotting equipment in reducing the amount of ground control,at the same time giving
an accuracy of Xtlh,5 yards.
For details of adjustment by this method see Annexure E,
After aerotriangulation is carried out, stereoplotting is done by Wild A6 and A8
and Multiplex equipment,

the state and prepare topographical mapping as requested by
Departments. Photography of those areas not covered by Commonwealth photography was
arranged by private contract and to date the whole of the etate is covered, Initial
photography was flown using Williamson Eagle IV camera fitted with Ross 8% inch lens at
scale of 1:158L0. Rephotography is now being carried out as required for mapping and
other purposes using Williamson OSC and Eagle IX cameras fitted with Ross 6 inch wide angle
lens and Wild RC5 camera fitted with an Aviogon 4% inch wide angle lens, A Wild RC7 plate
camera fitted with an Aviotar 6.7 ineh lens is used for photography of small areas required
for special purposes. Tt is the intention on any new mapping project to rephotograph the
area by private contract,
Photo maps conforming to the same regular boundary as the topographical maps, are
compiled of all medium scale photography. These maps are reproduced after being suitably
annotated at scales of 1 inch to 1 mile and 4 miles to 1 inch, There is complete coverage
of the state by this type of photomap.
In the early days of the formation of this braneh 1000 square miles of topographie
mapping was produced at 1:21680 with formlines, This has now been superseded by the
standard topographical map series at scale of 1:31680 with 50 feet contours which also
shows the cadastral pattern, To date 1800 square miles of this series has been published,
