material will be the plastic shield, the stable
plastic sheets which will be introduced as plates
in the cameras. I give that for your consideration
and consideration by manufacturers as a matter
of fact. If tests have been made in this respect I
would like to know. Further, if it would not be
possible, maybe chemists might think about
changing the processing of films, or even without
washing, I do not know, but it might be that
something could be done and we should think
about this.
Dr SCHERMERHORN: This is a very nice sub-
ject for Commission I. Let them go ahead, and
we poor photogrammetrists in Commission IV
who have to use the film will be grateful for
their improvements. As I said, there is no time
left except for Professor Hallert to show his two
slides.
Professor B. HALLERT: shows a slide with
the theoretical error distribution within a model
of wide angle photographs with 60 per cent
of overlap. The curves indicate the distribution
of the standard elevation errors expressed in
terms of the standard error of unit weight of the
Y-parallax corrections. The mean value is about
1.8 times the standard error of the Y-parallax
observations.
The second slide showed the distribution of
the standard errors within a model made of
convergent photographs, and where we use five
control points as in the former picture. Here we
have the distribution demonstrated and the
mean value here is about 1 times the standard
error of unit weight of the parallax observations.
In other words, this model made of convergent
photographs from 20 degrees convergency is
better than the other one in the relation 1 : 1.8,
nearly double as good, I would say. This is, of
course, provided that the systematic or regular
errors, of the basic observations of the image
co-ordinates are correct, lens distortion, earth
curvature regulation, etcetera. That is all ]
wanted to say.

sion IV.

Ich möchte Ihnen vorschlagen: Weil über diese
Frage offensichtlich noch zu wenig statistisches
Material vorliegt, und zu wenig systematische
Untersuchung vorliegt, dass die Kommission IV
in Zusammenarbeit mit der Kommission F der
OEEPE einerseits sucht, von den grossen Aus-
wertungszentren statistisches Material zu sam-
meln und die Sammlung zu normalisieren, und
andererseits Auswertungen, Untersuchungsaus-
wertungen zu veranlassen und diese Frage, diese
wichtige Frage noch weiter abzuklären. Wenn
Sie dagegen sind, lassen Sie es uns wissen, sonst
könnten wir in dieser Frage eine Resolution
vorschlagen, auf der nächsten Sitzung der Kom-
mission IV, wenn es Ihnen recht ist. Wird zu all-
gemeinen Fragen noch etwas gesagt werden. Es
scheint nicht der Fall zu sein. Dann möchte ich
Ihnen mitteilen, dass der Rapport von Professor
Hallert über die Arbeiten der Sub-Kommission
IV-4 an einer späteren Sitzung nachgeholt wird.
Wir werden studieren, in welcher Sitzung das
am besten geht.
Zweitens, werden wir suchen, eine Zeit anzu-
setzen, dass Sie die sehr schöne Ausstellung
über die Testarbeiten: für Sub-Komm. 1 - Monti
di Revôira, für 2 - Wabern, für 3 - Renfrew,
unter Leitung derjenigen, die die Testarbeiten
durchgeführt haben, noch besichtigen können,
damit Sie nähere Aufschlüsse an Hand der
Dokumentation erhalten können. Sind noch
Fragen zu stellen? Das ist nicht der Fall. Meine
