Stereogram 2. Highway route revision. The revision was made to avoid the
industrial area, to achieve a nearly right angle crossing of the pipe line in
the center of the strip clearing, which is the wide white band across the
stereogram, to descend the drainageway on firm ground without resorting to
curvature sharper than desirable, and to utilize the existing bridge seen near
the top left of the stereogram.
Parallax measurements were made to determine differences in elevation and
to place the route on a gradient which does not exceed the maximum permissible.
Note that when the right photograph was taken, direct sunlight was reflected
into the camera lens from the clear water of the sawmill pond.
