sources of error have been largely eliminated and the work has been
made considerably more efficient.
In connection with the cross-sectioning the detail maps required at
bridges, traffic points and resting areas are drawn. Where the road
project entails changes in the disposal of estate calling for adjustment,
maps are drawn according to the norms applying for legal maps, and
these are then used in connection with the subsequent surveying.
The field-investigation of the terrain to ascertain in detail the nature
of the ground, the occurrense of mountains etc. is added to the protocol
and punched on a tape for the mass calculation. The calculation of
masses is done entirely automatically with the help of the data machine
Iacit EDB.
It is as yet still too early to make any detailed pronouncement as to
