This thesis describes the history of a study of infrared aerial photography, which was || fi

started in 1956 in Japan and which is still being continued, and the practical aspect of its | il 
application to civil engineering. Ld | 
This study is being conducted principally by the Institute of Industrial Science, University |] | 
of Tokyo and covers a wide range from the basic department of photographing to practical He I

The results of this study amply confirmed the superiority of infrared photos over for- | | |

merly used panchromatic photos, in aspect of preliminary survey, especially photogeologic | n
