IDS, DPI and VDS are loosely
coupled via communication through
the DPI. A bitpad provides control
of image display. A colour monitor
vith definable topology can provide
split screen stereo viewing.

MEMORY ARRAY
Both the image display
system (IDS) and the image
processing system (IPS)
access the video array
(VMA) of tables and image
data via 8 KB windows. The
video display hardware
(VDS) assembles each dis-
played video line from the
table information. The IDS
and IPS can exchange mes-
sages by a "mailbox" in
VMA. The IPS may use VMA
for general data storage
during computations by
defining image "files" for
that purpose.
