Distribution Centres 
Distribution outlets, which have "browse" facilities have been established 
in each State capital city in the main aerial photography and map sales 
outlet of the State mapping authority and with two private firms. The 
Data Acquisition Facility at Alice Springs and the Data Processing 
Facility in Canberra also distribute products directly. Catalogues, order 
forms, product and price lists, sample products and descriptive material 
are available for public viewing at these centres. 
Reference Centres 
A new concept in providing advisory services for remote sensing 
application has been implemented with the introduction of designated 
Reference Centres. Each centre has a full range of ALS image samples and 
a complete set of data and colour Micro Image Catalogues. In addition, 
each Reference Centre holds a range of other reference material and 
relevant information, and are in the process of establishing a 
comprehensive library of images covering the ALS acquisition area. 
At each centre professionals with expertise in a range of disciplines are 
available for consultation to demonstrate, give advice and provide 
guidance in analytical and interactive techniques. Most have on location 
or have access to image analysis equipment and all have professionals who 
are familiar with ALS data.
