Full text: Photogrammetric and remote sensing systems for data processing and analysis

The concept below will concentrate on mono superposition.
Future development should take stereo superposition into
consideration.
Concept for an integrated system

Fig. l shows a flow diagram for an integrated system. The
system should not only take care of data from PHOTOGRAMS, but
also data from SURVEYING instruments and EXISTING MAPS. The
photograms could as well be substituted by SATELLITE IMAGES
or combined with such.
A) The PHOTOGRAMS should be IMAGE SCAN DIGITIZED creating
an IMAGE RASTER FILE as well as STEREO 3-D DIGITIZING
creating X, Y, Z DIGITAL TERRAIN MODELS and structured
VECTOR FILES.
B) The SURVEYING data should create structured VECTOR FILE
to couple the activities in A) or act stand alone.
C) EXISTING MAPS should be SCANNED or MANUAL 2-D DIGITIZED
to create VECTOR FILES and DIGITAL TERRAIN MODELS.
PATTERN RECOGNITION to be applied in the VECTORIZATION
process.
D) REPORTS and associated data should be limited to the
VECTOR FILES in a two-way communication.
E) TRANSFORMATION of the IMAGE RASTER FILE into an "orthogonal"
projection should be done based on a DIGITAL TERRAIN MODEL.
F) INTEGRATION of IMAGE RASTER and VECTOR FILES to be
displayed on top of each other in the same projection
system.
