Intelligent Defaulting
Intelligent defaulting is one of the most important components of
applications software systems. For every user control variable required to
run a program, EASI provides defaults via the use of the parameter file. The
defaults can be changed for any number of users at any time. The user may
also select any combination of default and interactive inputs.
Programmability
With EASI, users have a flexible software system that can adapt to their
needs through programmability. Users can quickly create procedures that
control the user environment or application process. Any EASI command can be
used to create these procedures vithout the need for compilers, linkers or
other host utilities.
Application-Independent User Environment
An application-independent user environment isolates the users from changes
made to application programs. EASI provides menu management, prompting and
program execution control independent of applications, making it simple to
change user dialogue, convert to other natural languages or add nev
application packages.
Machine Independence
Upgrading to a new computer or operating system, or networking with PCs, is
an important facet in the management of today’s computing resources. With
EASI/IMP, there is no longer a need for users to relearn how to use an
application when migrating to a new machine. EASI operates identically on
PCs, minis and mainframes, making user retraining unnecessary.
