Welcome Reception

Opening Ceremony

On Monday, 17th July 2000 the Congress will be opened,
combining traditional ISPRS ceremonies of previous con-
gresses with local culture. The keynote address will be
presented by Dr Ismail Serageldin, Vice President for spe-
cial programmes of the World Bank, chairman of the World
Commission on Water for the 21st Century and chairman
of the Consultative Group on Agricultural Research
(CGIAR). The aims, challenges, applications and benefits
of the sciences working together under the umbrella of
ISPRS have been summarised in the challenging theme of
the ISPRS Congress: "Geoinformation for All". J. Danger-
mond (ESRI), K. Kasturirangan (ISRO) and He Changchui
(FAO) will present their vision on this theme during the sec-
ond part of this Plenary Opening Session. This session
takes place in the Auditorium of the Amsterdam RAI, from
09:30 to 13:00 hours. At 13:00 hours, the Opening Cere-
mony of the Exhibition will take place in the Delta Hall.
Exhibitor's Reception

High Tea
Date: Monday 17th July

Location: Amsterdam RAI, La Ronde
Cost: Free to all registered accompanying persons.
The traditional High Tea will be an excellent opportunity to
meet with other accompanying persons. Dress is informal.
Civic Reception

Venue: Maritime Museum, Kattenburgerplein 1,
Amsterdam
Fee: NLG 25, -
You are welcome at a reception at the Maritime Museum
organised by the Municipality of Amsterdam and the
Netherlands Foreign Trade Agency. The Maritime Museum
is the treasury of Dutch Naval history. The museum is
housed in 's Lands Zeemagazijn', built by order of the
Amsterdam Admiralty in 1556. The reception will include
snacks, drinks and traditional Dutch music. Dress is infor-
mal.
To get to the Maritime museum from the Central station
you can take bus 22 or 32 to the stop "Kattenburgerplein".
Congress Dinner Show 2000
Date: Friday 21st July
Time: 19:30 - 24:00 hours
Location: Studio 21, Sumatralaan 47, Hilversum
Cost: NLG 80, - for participants and accompanying
persons
NLG 200, - for non-registered participants and
holders of day tickets.
2000 years of Dutch and World History, as well as a look
into this new millennium, will pass in lightening review.
Dress code is formal. Buses will depart as of 18:45 hours
from main entrance of the Amsterdam Rai to take you to
Hilversum, where the Dinner Show will be held, and the
bus will take you back to Amsterdam.
Closing Sessions
Date: Sunday 23rd July
Time: 12:30 - 15:30 hours
Location: Amsterdam RAI, Forum
Cost: Free to all registered delegates and registered
accompanying persons.
There will be two Plenary Closing Sessions: the Commis-
sion Summaries Session and the Closing Ceremony.
Technical Tours

The visit to ESA/ESTEC will include a visit to the test facil-
ities of ESTEC and a visit to the Noordwijk Space Expo.

The space facilities under construction at ESTEC will be
shown. Moreover, Noordwijk Space Expo offers informa-
tion and entertainment for visitors of all ages. You can wit-
ness the story of space from the earliest days to beyond
the year 2000. Both actual space hardware and its results
are shown.
Buses will depart from the main entrance of the Amster-
dam RAI.
