ESA-IRS is present in most European countries and even
overseas (currently Australia) through its network of National
Centres and Agents. They operate as full ESA-IRS
representatives for all matters which do not require online,
instant help and support.
Parallel to the national Centres one should nóte the active
participation of ESA-IRS in national Online User Groups where
direct contact with an assembly of customers cán be gained thus
providing precious feedback on customer needs.
III Access to ESA-IRS.
ÉSA-IRS is connected to a variety of telecommunication networks
enabling worldwide access.
Outside Europe access can be obtäined at any speed between 110 bits
pét second and 1200 bps via TYMNET or, at 50 bps through the TELEX
network.
Additionally, within Europe, ESA-IRS can be reached through packet
switched networks such as EURONET, TRANSPAC, (France) DATEX-P
(Germany), PSS (United Kingdom) etc.
. There are also ESA-IRS concentrators available in most European
countries. Direct dial up is of course always a possibility.
All of the abovementioned access methods operate in dial-up mode,
the only technical requirement being that the terminal used be
TELETYPE COMPATIBLE (transmission code USASCII).
For special applications it is possible to obtain access at 2400
bps either using leased lines or - a unique feature by ESA-IRS - in
dial up mode.
