Wild monocameras P 31 (interchangeable cameras f = 4,5 cm, 10 cm
and 20 cm) and P 32 (f = 6,4 cm) and also from similar commercial
cameras, can all be inserted in the UT 1.
At this point, we should mention the Wild AVIOMAP AM U universal
plotter. This instrument makes it possible, on the one hand, to use
short focal lengths (starting from 54 mm) and, on the other hand,
by virtue of its optional tilt computer it permits all desired tilt
angles for photographing from 0% to 100°,
Another link in the chain of consideration which led to the design
of the UT 1 Transformation Printer was the first super-wide-angle
metric camera (f = 4,5 cm, f/5.6) recently introduced by Wild for
the P 31 Universal Terrestrial Camera. Thanks to the high optical
performance of this camera combined with the wide object area which
can be covered, those tasks (e.g. architectural photogrammetry)
which could not be carried out with wide-angle cameras - or at least
only under economically unfavourable conditions - are possible at |
present. Thus, with the UT 1 Transformation Printer, transformed |
P 31 super-wide-angle photographs can now be introduced in the cur- |
rent universal analog plotters, a.o. the Wild A 10 and AM U. |
Besides stereoscopic plotting of terrestrial photographs the utili-
zation of single photographs by rectifying is also facilitated by
the UT 1. In fact, when rectifying tilted terrestrial photographs
with short focal length in rectifiers designed for aerial photo-
graphs, the limit of tilt of the projection table is a frequent
inconvenience. The enlargement of the original photograph in the
UT ] before insertion in the rectifier makes it possible to solve
this problem.
Description of the UT 1
Standard version
The standard version is intended for black-and-white and occasional
colour work.
It consists of the following components:
- The lamphouse with a 75 W opal enlarging lamp, reflector and remova-
ble filter cassette. The lamphouse can be raised and lowered by
means of a counter-weight device for access to the original-picture
cassette, the filter cassette or to the lamp itself.
- The original-picture cassette is removable. It consists of two
coated glasses set in hinged mounts. The original photograph is in-
serted between the two glasses. This operation is performed outside
the instrument. The photograph is framed by eye on an interchangea-
ble metal format mask inserted in the bottom mount. The format mask
