1978 ISP COMMISSION V INTER-CONGRESS SYMPOSIUM - STOCKHOLM SWEDEN
Monday, August 14 - The Opening Session 3
Talts: (President - Swedish Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing)
Ladies and Gentlemen. It is both an honour and a pleasure for the Swedish
Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing to wish you welcome to this
symposium.
In Sweden, non-topographic photogrammetry has a long tradition. It is
therefore a special pleasure for us to arrange this symposium. In my
opinion the work within Commission V has a special quality, as the appli-
cations thereof and the methods used, are often unique, and reveal new
ways of thinking.
I hope that you will have a fruitful week, with exchange of ideas and
thoughts which will stimulate you in your everyday work.
A symposium is not only work. It also provides opportunities for meeting
people, and developing personal relationships. For those of you who come
from other countries, and are perhaps visiting Sweden for the first time,
it gives you an opportunity to see something of this country, learn some-
thing of its customs, its history, its culture, and its people.
On behalf of the Swedish Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing
I wish you and interesting and successful week.
