He has served as consultant to many Government and private Organisations including the

| chairman of European Space Agency. He is a member of the German Society of Photogrammetry 
a and Remote Sensing, Canadian Institute of Surveying and the American Society of Photogram- 1. 
metry. He is married to Lisa Konecny and has two children (Susan and Gottfried). 
He has served the ISPRS as Chairman of Working Groups Congress Director (1976— 1980),
