PROGRESS REPORT ON THE ACTIVITIES OF ISPRS — WORKING GROUP (WG) VI-I
(INVENTORY OF MANPOWER AND EDUCATION & RESEARCH FACILITIES), 1985—86

ABSTRACT
During the period 1985—86 the working group has been constituted. In view of the specific
tasks of the working group, a total of 19 regional sub-working groups has been established to
cover altogether the entire world, and for each sub-working group a chairman has been or is being
appointed. In addition, a special questionnaire has been prepared in order to obtain pertinent
information worldwide. Copies of this questionnaire have been or are being forwarded to all sub
working group chairmen who have been or are being asked to send additional copies to national
delegates nominated by the regional sub-working group chairmen. Furthermore, WG newsletters
have been or are being forwarded to the sub-working group chairmen and other persons inter es-
ted in Commission VI and ISPRS in general, newsletters which should foster productive activity
of the WG. Also, instructions have been or are being mailed to the sub-working chairmen, regard-
ing the compilation and analysis of the data received in each sub-working group region.
ORGANIZATION AND ADMINISTRATION OF THE WORKING GROUP
According to the tasks of ISPRS WG V I—I, this working group has been organized into re
gional sub-working groups each headed by a regional chairman. Up to now, the following collea-
gues are regular members of the working group (regional sub-working group chairmen):

and Central American countries.
2. Prof. Abdul Bazak Abu Bakar, Head, Dept. of Photogrammetry, Faculty of Surveying,
University of Technology — Malaysia, New Branch Campus, Skudai, Johor, Malaysia. — Res-
ponsible for Sub-Working Group: Malaysia (including Sabah and Sarawak), Thailand, Burma,
Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Singapore.
3. Prof. Jorgen Risager Christensen, Dept. of Surveying & Photogrammetry, Royal Technical
University of Denmark, DK—2800 Lyngby, Denmark. —- Responsible for Sub-Working Group:
Scandinavian Countries.
4. Mr. lan R. Hall, Lecturer, Dept. of Surveying, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology,
