- The steps for geocoding, for a complex case
with LANDSAT and SAR-ERS recordings, are:
= the visualisation of the CCT or other remote
sensing recordings;
= the digitising of the contour lines;
= selection of GCP (ground control points) for
LANDSAT and SAR-ERS simulated
images and the registration-fusion of them
with DTM creation(Schreier 1993).
- The registration-fusion between the
LANDSAT and SAR-ERS-PRI geocoded.
- 3D perspectives of the geocoded images(see
slides 1-9).
- Marine driling profiles and their afferent
classical determinations positioning an the
aerial satelite recordings.
- Radiometric seasonal profiles built on
characteristic and — suggesstive directions,
basicaly on the “Great Deltaic Profile”; and on
different ecosystems (see fig.2);
Figure 2. The Great Deltaic Profile
- Preliminary processing of SAR-ERS
recordings, taken as reference level:
= recording segmentation;
" on ecosystems bases;
* on hydrographic basins and microbasins
bases;
= visualisation, with succesive adjustments
using PDF (Probability Density Function);
= speckle attenuations using adaptive and
geometric filters;
= colour — composed RGB and [HS system
processings, as well as transformations from
RGB to IHS, on the whole recording (or
wide areas), on image segmentations
respectively.
- Preliminary processings of the satellite
recordings in optical domain:
= the edges enhancement on the thematic
contrast enhancement on spectral bands
combinations and also on radio of i, j,
bands;
= edge detection with convolution kernels:
Sobel, Prewitt, (Pratt 1991) (fig.4).
4. IMAGE PROCESSING AND OBTAINED
RESULTS.
- Improvement of the drawing of the areas
with microrelief zones, using radar recordings
on the dry-normal periods.
- Monitoring — control of the “red
blossoming” — biological pollution in the
coastal area of the Black Sea between Niepre
Lagoon and Boshphorus (cca. 650km see fig.3).
- Monitoring of the oil slices type pollution
on the sea especially in area of driling
platforms.
- Monitoring of the morphological evolution
of the coastal regime, especially on the Sachalin
Island in the period 1972 - 1993.
- The sediments discharge in the Black Sea,
on the Danube mouths and the coastal zone of
the Black Sea (see fig.3).

discharge in the coastal zone of the
Black Sea.
