Abstract:
The objective of this study has been the utilization of
different image processing techniques for the evaluation
of their applicability to earth scientific problems.
From the selected ground scene TAHOUA 3 in the Republic
of Niger, Landsat imagery from November 8, 1972,
August 4, 1975, and October 15, 1975, has been available.
For the semi-arid region under consideration, these data
describe the phenology of the dry season, the beginning
and the end of the wet period.
Geometric image rectification with respect to the scene
of August 4, 1975, enabled multitemporal analysis and
processing.
The detection and separation of dynamic features and more
permanent aspects was emphasized to facilitate analysis
and interpretation.
