ABSTRACT
A simply methodology is described combining user interpretation of aerial
photography and computer storage, processing and presentation of land use
information. The system has been used to collect land use and land use change
data for an urban area in England. The results indicate that the method should
enable non-experts in remote sensing techniques to make efficient use of aerial
photography which is widely available in developed countries. The methodology
is also applicable to those developing countries in which there is rapid urban
expansion.
