ABSTRACT
The as-cast structure of high-speed-steels contains carbides of the types MC, M,C
or MgC. The formation of metastable M,C as opposed to stable MgC is influenced by
the alloy composition and the rate of cooling. In M2 steels in which half the
vanadium content is substituted by niobium, it is shown that solidification via MC
and M,C is favoured. M,C decomposes to MC and MC at hot working temperatures. This
decomposition occurs more easily in niobium-bearing steels, and the decomposition
products MC and MC are finer than in conventional M2 steels. These resulting, fine
carbides have favourable solubility characteristics during austenitisation, leading
to sufficient matrix saturation.
Daher liegt in
ner Mittelrippe erkennbare M6C. Diese Carbide können in Bild 1, einer rasterelektro-
nenmikroskopischen Aufnahme, anhand ihres Materialkontrastes unterschieden werden.
Die Abbildungstechnik im REM! »2) sowie selektive Präparationsmethoden für die
