nates from 3.using the actual terrainheight as the argument for
interpolation.
The orthophoto derived, may also be generated with a digitally
determined coordinate grid,as well as edge or gradient enhance-
ment procedures may be utilized to generate quasi line maps.
Fig. 3.1 shows a spaceborne slant range SAR image. The digital
data are of courtesy of the JPL/Pasadena(USA) and the DLR/Ober-
pfaffenhofen(FRG)and have been processed by the OPTRONICS P1700
device of the Inst.for Photogrammetry in Hannover. This type of
imagery is a typical product, as delivered by the data acquisi-
tion side.
A new standard product, like the sample in Fig.3.2 is recommen-
ded in particular for hilly and mountainous terrain,in order to
verify a reliable geocoding of radar imagery. This radar ortho-
photo has been processed by LOHMANN. The digital data, already
north oriented, possesses a uniform original scale of 1:200 000.
The DEM-influences are already rectified, as well as changes in
the attitudes, see also SCHROEDER et al. (1985).
