Letters; 7, Satire and Humor; 8, Miscellany; may be used to subdivide any of the languajes in the following
table; and any division of English literature in the index referring to this table may be used in subdividing
another literature, by replacing the initial figures 82 (denoting English) by the figures of the ad languaj as
given in this table.
Thus Ballads, English literature in the index ar 821.04 and in this table Spanish is 86, therefore 861.04
is Spanish ballads; 891.7 is Russian and 891.7104 is Russian ballads
This list does net include some languajes given in Table 3, becauz of small likelihood that there wil be
corresponding literatures; but any languaj in that table may, if wisht, be given the regular literature treat
ment, except Anglo-Saxon, for which a special literature table is provided under 829,
